Why am I proactively embarking on a 12-month challenge to minimize the stuff in my life and spend less?
- Stuff creates the need for organization and apparently I am either too busy, immature or incompetent to stay organized.
- We don’t need a whole lot of stuff to live.
- Or be happy.
- I want to live like a small business owner during their first year in business. This means a lot of PB&J sandwiches.
- Simplifying my wardrobe means fewer choices which mean fewer piles which means a happier husband.
- Our kids wear uniforms — why can’t their professional Mom?
- Buying & collecting less will free up more time to be creative.
- Living on Blue Raddish Studios will propel the need to focus on the business and try to grow it. If I continue to supplement the business with my real income, the business isn’t ever going to fly on its own.
- I can’t go wrong by demonstrating to our children that it is possible to change my ways. Even at 33. You can always create change in your life with good intention and a damn good plan.
- Writing is therapeutic accountability for me….henceforth the blog.
And Extra Credit #11 is dedicated to a December 19th road trip with three of my favorite people: My Main Squeeze, Sister & Brother in Law. They could all three be put in the category of “supportive naysayers”!
We laughed until we were in tears over all of my my problems and specifically….this challenge.
The Hejduks are on board as well…bring on the simplified, less spending, less collecting, more creative year of 2011!
